Vivah is a mobile app (iOS and Android) for wedding guests and planners. Guests can view the wedding timeline, chat with other guests, and ask an AI assistant questions about the wedding. Planners can manage events and guest communications. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following information when you use Vivah:

Name and contact information (e.g. email address or phone number) when you create an account or are added to a wedding
Messages you send in the in-app guest chat
Questions you submit to the AI assistant
Device information and push notification tokens, to deliver notifications to your device

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide access to your wedding's timeline, schedule, and event details
Enable guest-to-guest chat within your wedding
Power the AI assistant to answer your wedding-related questions
Send you push notifications about your wedding events and updates
Allow planners and couples to manage guest lists and communications

We do not use your data for advertising and do not sell it to third parties.

3. Third-Party Services

Vivah may use third-party services to operate the app (such as cloud hosting, push notification delivery, and AI services). We will update this section once our full technology stack is confirmed. Each third-party service we use is contractually required to protect your data and use it only to provide services to us.

4. Chat and AI Interactions

Messages sent in the guest chat and questions submitted to the AI assistant are stored to provide the service. Please do not share sensitive personal information (such as financial or medical details) in the chat or with the AI assistant.

5. Push Notifications

If you allow push notifications, we will use your device token to send you wedding-related updates. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for the duration of the wedding. After the wedding concludes, your data is deleted or anonymized within 90 days, unless you request earlier deletion.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. If you are located in California (USA), you have additional rights under the CCPA. If you are located in India, your data is handled in accordance with applicable Indian data protection law.

8. Children's Privacy

Vivah is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child's data has been submitted, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
